Effort Will Expand Revenue in Reaching Company's More than 65 Million Consumers

MUMBAI, India, July 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Videocon d2h Limited (NASDAQ: VDTH), India's fastest growing DTH service, has formed a new executive advertising team to be headed by Indian media sales experts, it was announced today. The advertising initiative, which will target inventory opportunities on the Videocon d2h platform, comes in response to positive feedback from Videocon d2h advertisers such as Volkswagen, Honda, Disney, Sony TV, Zee Group and Star Sports, and taps an Indian digital media space that is expanding rapidly.


For the first time, Videocon d2h will offer targeted advertising across its bouquet of regional language and proprietary channels as well as other new channels to be launched shortly. Media buyers will also be able to advertise on Videocon d2h's home channel and Info bar when changing channels.

The new Videocon d2h advertising sales team is led by media veteran Tanmay Srivastava, who joins the company after serving as the Head of Advertising Sales for MSM Network, which represents Sony Entertainment Television, Sony MAX streaming online television, SAB TV (India's comedy channel) and MIX. Reporting directly to Rohit Jain, Deputy CEO, Videocon d2h has also recruited two other senior executives with extensive local advertising sales experience.

Videocon d2h began offering advertising on its platform only last year, the inaugural effort focusing on its home channel and it generated approximately US$1.5 million in fiscal 2015. With its expanded initiative, Videocon d2h is anticipating substantially bigger advertising revenue gains in fiscal 2016.

Prior to joining Videocon d2h, Tanmay Srivastava served as Head of Advertising Sales for the MSM Network, which represents Sony Entertainment Television, MAX, SAB and MIX. In this post, he supervised ad sales revenue generation from India-based clients for 16 international feeds from the US, Canada, UK, South Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Prior to this, Mr. Srivastava worked for the International Business of Indian Television Network, where he gained extensive experience in selling print, television channels, online, regional channels and Doordarshan programs, as well as slot sales and sponsorship for various televised ground events. With more than 15 years experience in advertising sales, business development and account management, Mr. Srivastava has also worked for such top media organizations as Star TV, National Geographic Channel, NDTV and Zee Network. He earned a Masters Degree in Business Management from Bradford University in the UK.
